Confidence
Several times in Guatemala, I’ve enjoyed an excursion called zip lining: where we grab hold of a handle, get strapped in, and soar over high altitudes. Coasting to the next safe platform, only to once again take the leap and soar over another painstakingly high altitude before arriving on level ground.
In order to trust that I wouldn’t fall, I had to believe in confidence that the zip line was trustworthy.
Confidence. Where are you placing your confidence?
Is your Confidence in him?
Are you asking in prayer, boldly placing all your trust and confidence in our worthy God? Or are you wavering in unbelief.
It’s so easy to misplace our confidence. To look for our confidence in affirmation, factual data, our emotions, money, security, or things.
When everything looks good, then surely I will have confidence in my God. Our eyes so easily deceive us! It is with Faith, that we can boldly and confidently petition God for the change that we desire to see in our lives.
As we ask, let us not doubt, for in James, God compares us that doubt to, “a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That man should not think he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all he does.” (James 1:6-8)
