He Is Forgiving
A few years ago I was at the end of my rope. I was angry, hurting, and I felt like it would be better if I were not around.
The weight of my pain pill addiction had come crashing onto my shoulders. Surely it was unforgivable!
I was wrong, and it is0 something that was forgivable.
Forgiveness is a precious gift that the Lord bestows on us though we don’t deserve it.
Can you think of something that has no limits? When we look back on our lives we can all say that we have done things that we are not proud of.
Today’s verse describes God as merciful and forgiving, and indeed he is.
You may respond “I have killed someone. There is no way God can forgive me.”
That is a lie from the devil himself because today’s verse says he can, and will, forgive you. This forgiveness is free and is available to anyone.
So how do we obtain this most precious gift?
First, are we genuinely sorry and repentant for the things we have done?
Secondly, we place our faith in Jesus Christ and ask him to forgive us of all of our sin.
The biggest lie that Satan tells us is that we are no longer good enough for God when we mess up. Do accept this lie.
Today’s verse tells us the truth, and the truth is that God will be merciful and forgive us.
Is there something on your heart that you need to give to God? Christ is willing and ready to forgive you, and there is no sin that is too big.
Give that heavy weight over to the King of kings. Accept his mercy today and hand it over to him.
