It’s easy to work for money. It’s easy to work for prestige. It’s easy to work for power. Those are typical reasons that a lot of people work, right?

You know what doesn’t seem as easy? Working for God.

It’s not that you don’t want to, it’s just that it’s not, easy. Who wants to be the first in and last out? Who wants to constantly keep their mouth in check? Who wants to serve those they supervise? On a good day, a few people do. On a bad day, no one probably.

But God doesn’t call us to be fair weather employees anymore than He calls us to be fair weather Christians. So what do you do?

You work as unto the LORD, whether it’s easy or hard. You work for God whether you feel like it or not. You work for God no matter what, because in essence, your work for Him is all that matters.

And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men – Colossians 3:23 NKJV
