So often we live as we have an infinite supply of time. Christ lived knowing time was not on His side. Devoting time to the poor, sick, lost, and forgotten. Jesus frequently spoke of immediacy when giving instruction. Being consciously present in the moment to heal, hear, and help.

Opportunities to work and serve others, and the skills to do it, are God-given gifts. We should be responsible and work to our ability. We need leisure to replenish. Jesus wasn’t condemning work and activity, only our anxiety and failure to see God as our ultimate provider.
